Monday 15th May saw seven representatives of RNLI Selsey Lifeboat at the Arun Sounds Barbershop Chorus open evening in Bersted joining the ladies singing some demonstrations of barbershop arrangements of well known songs and vocal exercises – a new, and fun, experience for all of us. 2017 was the chorus's 36th birthday.
In 2016 RNLI Selsey Lifeboat was Arun Sounds chosen charity. They performed at our Lifeboat Day in August 2016 on Selsey recreation ground. Their fund raising activities raised the magnificent sum of £550 for Selsey Lifeboat and Joyce Stroud, Chairman, presented a cheque for this amount to help our volunteer crews continue their valuable work of saving lives at sea.
After the presentation we enjoyed an impromptu performance by the chorus and two of their quartets of singers.
We are grateful to Ali Lakeman for introducing Selsey Lifeboat to Arun Sounds.
